A structured process. No mystery in the middle.
Every NKM Digital project follows a clear path from discovery to launch, with defined decisions, visible progress and a practical outcome at every stage.
Good work starts with shared clarity.
A website project becomes difficult when the goal is vague, decisions arrive late or design and development move in separate directions. Our process is designed to remove that uncertainty early.
We agree on the business objective, audience, scope, responsibilities and success criteria before production accelerates. You know what we are working on, what we need from you and what the next decision will be.
How we work
Fit & Project Brief
We begin with a focused conversation about the business problem, not a tour of every possible feature. We review what you have today, what needs to change, who the website must serve and what outcome would make the project worthwhile.
- Business goals and priority audiences
- Current website or workflow challenges
- Required pages, functionality and integrations
- Content, brand assets and internal stakeholders
- Target timeline, budget range and decision process
A written proposal with the recommended approach, deliverables, responsibilities, timeline and investment.
Discovery & Strategy
Once the project begins, we move from assumptions to shared understanding. We examine the audience, offer, content, competitors, conversion paths and technical constraints. For redesigns, we also review the existing website and available performance data.
- Kickoff and stakeholder discovery
- Audience and user-journey mapping
- Existing-site, content and analytics review
- Competitor and reference review
- Conversion-goal and measurement planning
- Platform and integration assessment
An agreed project direction, success criteria and prioritised requirements.
Architecture & Content Plan
Before visual design expands, we organise the experience. We define what pages and content types are required, how visitors move through them and where each important action belongs.
- Sitemap and page inventory
- User flows and conversion paths
- Page-level content hierarchy
- Wireframes for priority templates
- CMS and reusable-component plan
- Migration, integration and tracking requirements
An approved blueprint that aligns content, design and development before expensive rework begins.
UX & Visual Design
We turn the approved structure into a responsive visual system. The design is created around real content and real actions, so important decisions are tested in context rather than hidden behind placeholder text.
- Typography, colour, spacing and visual hierarchy
- Responsive layouts and component behaviour
- Navigation, forms and interaction states
- Reusable sections and CMS templates
- Motion and interaction principles where relevant
An approved responsive design direction and component system ready for development.
Development & Integration
We build the approved experience in the selected platform—WordPress, Framer or a custom stack. Development happens against the agreed component system, content model and technical plan, with progress shared at defined review points.
- Responsive page and component development
- CMS configuration and reusable templates
- Forms, CRM, booking and email integrations
- Analytics and conversion-event implementation
- Custom functionality and API connections
- Content population or agreed migration work
A working website or web system in a controlled review environment.
Quality Assurance & Launch Preparation
Launch is not the moment to discover broken forms, missing redirects or untracked conversions. We test the complete experience before it reaches the public.
- Desktop, tablet and mobile layouts
- Current major browsers and devices
- Navigation, links, forms and email delivery
- Content, metadata and essential technical SEO
- Performance and accessibility checks
- Analytics, tags and conversion events
- URL redirects, domain and hosting readiness
- Privacy, consent and required legal-page placement
A launch-ready build, an agreed go-live checklist and clear ownership for each remaining action.
Launch, Training & Handover
We coordinate the move to production, complete final live checks and verify the critical journeys again. Your team receives the access, training and documentation needed to operate the website confidently.
A live website, confirmed access, handover materials and a defined post-launch support period.
Care & Continuous Improvement
A website starts producing useful evidence only after real visitors use it. Where ongoing support is selected, we monitor the platform, review performance and help the website evolve with the business.
- Maintenance, backups and security monitoring
- Technical support and development requests
- New campaign pages and content templates
- Analytics and conversion review
- Performance and accessibility improvements
- Conversion experiments and funnel refinements
The principles behind the process
Strategy before decoration
We define the audience, message and action before choosing visual treatments. Design should make the strategy easier to understand.
Real content before perfect mock-ups
Content affects hierarchy, layout and conversion. We use representative content early so the design solves the real communication problem.
One decision at the right time
We organise reviews around the stage of work. Architecture is approved before visual design; design is approved before full development. This keeps feedback useful and prevents late-stage confusion.
Visible progress
You receive clear review points and working previews. Questions and risks are raised with context and a recommendation—not hidden until the deadline.
Quality is part of delivery
Responsive behaviour, forms, tracking, accessibility considerations and performance are not optional finishing touches. They are part of the website’s job.
Your accounts stay yours
Where practical, domains, hosting, analytics and platform access remain in client-owned accounts. Handover should increase control, not create unnecessary dependency.
What we need from your team
The fastest projects are not the ones with the fewest conversations. They are the ones with clear ownership and timely decisions.
- One primary point of contact
- Access to relevant website, analytics and business systems
- Brand assets and available content
- Consolidated feedback from decision-makers
- Approvals within the agreed review window
- Early notice of legal, compliance or integration constraints
How the process changes by project type
WordPress projects
Additional emphasis is placed on content modelling, editorial roles, plugin and integration decisions, migration planning, hosting and maintenance.
Framer projects
Design and development can overlap more closely, with additional focus on the component system, CMS collections, interactions and marketing-team handover.
Funnels and landing pages
The process focuses on traffic source, offer-message match, qualification, forms, thank-you pages, tracking signals and the follow-up sequence.
Custom web development
Discovery includes workflow mapping, user roles, data, integrations, security and feature prioritisation. Complex builds may be divided into a validated first release and later phases.
Timelines and scope
Many marketing websites take approximately three to six weeks. Timelines increase when a project includes extensive content production, stakeholder groups, multilingual content, complex migration, ecommerce or custom functionality.
The schedule in your proposal identifies the major stages, review points and client dependencies. If the scope changes, we explain the effect on timing and cost before the additional work begins.
Frequently asked questions
Still have a question? Book a free call and get a straight answer.
Book a strategy call and share the goal, current situation and expected timeline. If the project is a good fit, we will recommend an approach and prepare a written proposal.
The proposal defines the review and revision structure for each stage. Feedback is consolidated at agreed points so decisions stay clear and the project keeps moving.
Yes. We can collaborate with internal marketing, design, development, IT and compliance teams, with responsibilities agreed during scoping.
We document the new requirement, explain its impact and obtain approval before adding it to the project.
That depends on the engagement. Your team can provide final content, we can help structure and refine it, or fuller content support can be included in the scope.
Yes. You review the work at defined stages and receive access to a controlled preview before approval and launch.
We complete live checks and provide the agreed support period. Ongoing Website Care & Growth plans are available when you want continued maintenance, development and improvement.
